Pier 1 Marine is strategically located in the historical and scenic region of Trinidad’s Western Peninsula, Chaguaramas.

Pier 1’s rich heritage dates back to the second world war, when under a special Base for Destroyers Agreement , it was awarded by the former British Crown Government, for occupation as a military base, for the United States , to assist in the Second World War allied effort (1939-1945).

As a result of the occupation, of both air and sea guards, many harbours, depots, road and railway systems were erected, to facilitate the installation of the ground support troops. Access to the ocean holiday area was fully curtailed by 1943 when WWII was at its peak. The deep water draft in the Williams Bay region, at Pier 1, was one such notable landing depot for large frigates during World War II.

The jetty at Pier 1 was specifically reconstructed and engineered to regulatory and international standards to provide an efficient Port of Call for marine vessels specific to the Oil and Gas sector.
